New test could better predict liver cancer treatment outcomes

NCT ID NCT01494324

Summary

This study aims to develop a better way to predict whether liver cancer ablation treatments are working. Researchers will analyze tissue samples from treated tumors to see if they can tell the difference between cancer cells and healthy cells that just look different after treatment. Current CT scans can't reliably make this distinction, which affects treatment decisions. The goal is to help doctors better monitor patients' responses to ablation therapy.
