New scope method for liver biopsy matches traditional needle for diagnosis
NCT ID NCT06047327
Summary
This study directly compared two methods for taking a small sample of liver tissue to diagnose disease. Researchers tested whether a newer method using a scope through the stomach (EUS) was as good as the standard method using a needle through the skin (percutaneous). They measured if the tissue samples were large and complete enough for diagnosis, and also tracked patient pain and satisfaction after the procedures.
