Laser and immunotherapy combo takes on recurrent brain tumors

NCT ID NCT07620548

First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new approach for people with recurrent glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. It combines a laser treatment that heats and destroys tumor tissue with an immunotherapy drug (cemiplimab) that helps the immune system fight cancer. The study compares this combination to standard chemotherapy, aiming to see if it can slow tumor growth and extend survival. About 99 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups.
