Blood test may spare kids with leukemia from painful bone marrow needles

NCT ID NCT07483476

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether a blood test measuring tumor DNA can track childhood leukemia as accurately as the standard bone marrow biopsy. Researchers will compare results from 205 children and teens with newly diagnosed leukemia at two key treatment timepoints. If successful, this approach could reduce the need for invasive procedures and allow more frequent monitoring.
