Liquid biopsies could revolutionize HPV cancer monitoring

NCT ID NCT05774561

First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study is testing whether liquid biopsies (blood tests that look for bits of HPV DNA) can help doctors monitor how well treatment is working for HPV-related cancers, like cervical and oropharyngeal cancer. Researchers will follow 480 people for up to 4 years, collecting samples before, during, and after treatment. The goal is to find the best way to use these tests to spot cancer returning early, so patients can get help faster.
