New drug cocktail aims to halt sarcoma progression
NCT ID NCT07457775
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests a combination of three drugs—liposomal irinotecan, temozolomide, and bevacizumab—in 24 people with soft tissue sarcoma that has returned or not responded to prior treatment. The goal is to see if the combination can slow or stop tumor growth. Participants will receive the drugs intravenously in 3-week cycles, and the study will track how long they live without the disease worsening.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
liposomal irinotecan, temozolomide, and bevacizumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with soft tissue sarcoma that has come back or stopped responding to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 24 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug combination may cause side effects and may not improve survival.
