New study: simple blood test may spot heart danger in kidney patients
NCT ID NCT07141628
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study will follow 300 people with stage 4 chronic kidney disease for 18 months to see if high levels of lipoprotein(a) in the blood are linked to heart attacks, strokes, or worsening kidney function. Researchers want to know if this test can better predict heart risk than standard factors like cholesterol or diabetes. The goal is to learn more, not to test a new treatment.
