Could a tiny embolism cure stiff, painful fingers?

NCT ID NCT06611007

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This early study tests if a procedure called arterial embolization, using a substance called Lipiodol, is safe for people with painful hand osteoarthritis that hasn't improved with standard treatments. Fifteen participants will receive the procedure and be monitored for 6 months to track side effects, pain levels, and hand function. The goal is to see if blocking certain blood vessels can reduce pain and swelling.
