Sickle cell study tracks blood fats to predict crises
NCT ID NCT05780775
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at how different types of fats in the blood (like cholesterol) are linked to complications in adults with sickle cell disease. Researchers will follow 116 patients in the French West Indies over several years, checking their fat levels during normal times and during painful crises. The goal is to better understand these patterns, not to test a new treatment.
