NCT ID NCT07667270

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a personalized anti-inflammatory diet to standard physical therapy (compression, massage, and exercise) reduces leg swelling and improves quality of life in women with lipedema. 75 women aged 18-65 with stage I-III lipedema will be randomly assigned to one of two diet approaches. The trial is not yet recruiting and aims to find better symptom management, not a cure.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Anti-inflammatory diet and physical therapy (compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage, pneumatic compression, exercise)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a better way to manage lipedema symptoms like leg swelling and discomfort.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 75 women, so results may not apply to everyone. The diet and therapy are supportive, not a cure.
