First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study investigates whether women with lipedema, a chronic fat disorder causing pain and swelling in the legs, also have a condition called central sensitization—where the nervous system becomes overly sensitive to pain. Researchers will compare 50 participants (25 with lipedema and 25 healthy volunteers) using questionnaires and pressure pain tests. The goal is to better understand the pain in lipedema and help improve diagnosis and treatment.
