Could cleaning your teeth calm your joints? study probes Gum-Joint link

NCT ID NCT05706493

Summary

This study aimed to better understand the link between gum disease (periodontitis) and rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers measured specific antibodies in the gums of 36 patients with both conditions before and after a standard gum cleaning treatment. The goal was to see if improving gum health affected these antibodies, which are involved in rheumatoid arthritis.
