Gentle light beams aim to shield transplant patients from agonizing mouth sores

NCT ID NCT07290413

Summary

This study is testing if a gentle, non-invasive light therapy called photobiomodulation can prevent severe mouth sores in patients undergoing a stem cell transplant. It compares three ways to deliver the light: inside the mouth, outside on the cheeks, or a combination of both. The goal is to find the best method to reduce this painful side effect and improve recovery.
