Shining light on sleepiness: new brain treatment tested for tired sleep apnea patients
NCT ID NCT06698809
Summary
This study is testing whether shining red light on the scalp can help reduce daytime sleepiness in people with sleep apnea. Researchers are enrolling 22 adults who use CPAP machines for sleep apnea but still feel excessively tired during the day. Participants will receive light therapy while researchers measure changes in brain blood flow and sleepiness levels to see if this approach might help.
