Can better sleep and routines heal a broken heart? new program aims to prevent depression after loss

NCT ID NCT04016896

Summary

This study tested whether a 12-week program could prevent major depression in older adults grieving the recent loss of a spouse. 151 participants at risk for depression were randomly assigned to either track their sleep, meals, and physical activity with health coaching, or to receive standard care. Researchers measured changes in depression, anxiety, and grief symptoms to see if stabilizing daily routines could improve mental health.
