Liver ultrasound may predict heart failure after surgery
NCT ID NCT06777355
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at 32 adults who had heart surgery to see if a liver ultrasound could help find right-sided heart problems. Right heart issues are common after surgery and can lead to kidney or liver failure. The researchers measured blood flow in the liver and compared it to standard heart tests. The goal was to see if this simple ultrasound could be a useful early warning tool.
