Summary
This study tested a simple, medication-free program to help adults quit tobacco in low-resource communities in Mumbai, India. Nearly 4,700 participants received either brief advice from trained community health workers or usual care. The program used mobile apps and WhatsApp to support practitioners. The goal was to see if this low-cost approach could increase quit rates and be scaled up.
