Simple drugs may boost immune recovery after colon cancer surgery

Summary
This study tests whether giving lidocaine or a high dose of dexamethasone during colon cancer surgery can help the immune system recover better afterward. About 100 adults having surgery for colon cancer will be randomly assigned to receive one of these drugs or a placebo. Researchers will measure immune markers and pain levels to see which approach leads to fewer complications and faster recovery.
