Spray away the sting: new study tests lidocaine for IV pain in C-Section
NCT ID NCT07212192
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 10% lidocaine spray can reduce the pain of inserting an IV needle in women scheduled for a planned C-section. About 150 participants will receive either the lidocaine spray or a placebo before the IV is placed, and then rate their pain on a 0-10 scale. The goal is to see if the spray offers a simple, drug-free way to ease discomfort during a common hospital procedure.
