Summary
This study looked at the safety of giving lidocaine (a numbing medicine) during weight-loss surgery. 50 adults having laparoscopic bariatric surgery had their blood tested at several points to measure lidocaine levels. The goal was to confirm that dosing based on a modified body weight is safe and does not cause serious side effects like seizures or heart problems.
