New drug combo aims to control Tough-to-Treat blood cancer
NCT ID NCT03147612
Summary
This study is testing a multi-step treatment plan for adults with a specific, aggressive form of leukemia (ALL) that has come back or hasn't responded to prior therapy. The plan combines lower-intensity chemotherapy with two targeted drugs, ponatinib and blinatumomab, to attack the cancer cells. The main goal is to see if this approach can put the cancer into deep remission and control the disease for a longer time.
