Amino acid boosts cancer treatment? new study tests leucine combo

NCT ID NCT07359989

Summary

This study is testing if adding a common amino acid called leucine to the standard pre-surgery treatment (chemotherapy and radiation) can help shrink tumors more effectively in people with locally advanced rectal cancer. The goal is to see if this combination leads to better outcomes, like having no cancer cells left after surgery. It will enroll about 33 patients to check both safety and how well the treatment works.
