Study tests gentler tool for uncomfortable cervical procedure
NCT ID NCT04000477
Summary
This study aimed to compare two tools used to collect cells from inside the cervix during a diagnostic procedure. It tested whether a brush-like tool (cytobrush) causes less pain than the standard scraping tool (Kevorkian curette) while still collecting enough cells for accurate testing. The trial was for women who needed this procedure due to abnormal Pap smear or HPV test results.
