New approach aims to save more limbs from amputation

NCT ID NCT06879561

Summary

This study compares two different methods doctors use when opening blocked arteries in the lower legs of patients with severe circulation problems and non-healing wounds. One method uses standard imaging (angiography), while the other adds a special pressure-measuring wire to get more detailed information about blood flow. Researchers want to see which approach leads to better blood flow restoration and faster wound healing, potentially helping patients avoid amputation.
