First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study compares two approaches during colorectal cancer surgery: leak testing versus no leak testing. Leak testing checks if the newly connected bowel is sealed properly using a gastroscope, air, and blue dye. The goal is to see if this test reduces serious complications like bowel leaks within 30 days after surgery. About 264 adults aged 18-85 with colorectal cancer will take part.
