ERs may hold key to closing lung cancer screening gaps

Summary
This study tests a new way to increase lung cancer screening among high-risk people by reaching them in the emergency department. Researchers will screen patients for social needs and offer tailored help to get them scheduled for a low-dose CT scan. The goal is to see if this approach improves screening rates and reduces health disparities. About 100 adults aged 50–80 who smoke or quit recently will take part.
