First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether electronic alerts in medical records help doctors prescribe stronger cholesterol-lowering medications for heart disease patients with high LDL. About 400 adults with heart disease and LDL over 80 mg/dL, already on a statin, will be randomly assigned to have their doctor receive an alert or not. The goal is to see if alerts lead to better medication use and lower cholesterol levels.
