Calming scent tested to ease surgery fears

NCT ID NCT06167096

Summary

This study tested whether the smell of lavender could help patients feel less anxious during a common skin cancer surgery. Researchers enrolled 89 adults having surgery on their face or neck to see if the calming scent reduced their nervousness and their perception of bad smells during the procedure. The goal was to find a simple, drug-free way to improve the patient experience.
