Can virtual nature walks and laughter yoga calm Chemotherapy's toll?
NCT ID NCT07798661
First seen Sep 01, 2026 · Last updated Sep 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether combining laughter yoga with virtual reality nature scenes can reduce anxiety and improve sleep in people who are in the early stages of chemotherapy. Participants will either receive this digital behavioral intervention during their chemotherapy infusions or receive standard care. The intervention involves weekly sessions for four weeks, where patients wear virtual reality glasses showing relaxing 360-degree nature videos while doing laughter yoga exercises. The study measures changes in anxiety and sleep quality using standard questionnaires.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- laughter yoga-integrated virtual reality
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a drug-free way to help people in early chemotherapy feel less anxious and sleep better during treatment.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The benefits may be modest, and some people might not enjoy or tolerate the virtual reality experience.
