First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, can reduce symptoms of depression in people whose depression has not improved with standard treatments. About 120 adults aged 18 to 65 with treatment-resistant depression will receive either the gas or a placebo in a blinded setup. The main goal is to see if depression scores improve over 12 weeks.
