Summary
This study tested whether adding a clot-busting drug (tenecteplase) before a mechanical clot removal procedure leads to better recovery for stroke patients. It involved 391 adults who had a stroke caused by a major brain artery blockage and could be treated 4.5 to 24 hours after symptoms began. The main goal was to see which approach helped more patients regain independence 90 days later.
