Needle-Free numbing gel could spare adults the sting of shots before stitches
NCT ID NCT07480135
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special gel (LAT gel) can numb cuts as well as standard numbing shots, but without the pain of a needle. 70 adults with simple cuts in the emergency room received either the gel or a shot before getting stitches. The goal was to see if the gel makes the whole experience less painful, especially during the numbing step.
