Light vs gas: new hope for easing cancer Treatment's painful side effect
NCT ID NCT07069153
Summary
This study tested two non-drug treatments to help cancer patients with painful mouth sores, a common and debilitating side effect of chemotherapy and radiation. Forty adults with head, neck, or blood cancers were randomly assigned to receive either laser light therapy or ozone gas therapy for five days. Researchers measured which treatment was better at reducing the severity of the sores, easing pain, and improving patients' quality of life over a month.
