Laser and vitamin d may shorten time in braces

NCT ID NCT07286474

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding low-level laser therapy and vitamin D3 supplements to standard braces can help move teeth faster and reduce pain. Fifty adults with crowded lower front teeth will be split into groups: braces alone, braces plus vitamin D, or braces plus both laser and vitamin D. Researchers will measure tooth movement, pain, and root health over several months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

low-level laser therapy and vitamin D3 supplements

What this could lead to

If it works, this could make orthodontic treatment faster, less painful, and require fewer dental visits.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination may not work better than braces alone, and there is a risk of root resorption or pain.
