Light therapy shows promise for easing stiff muscles after stroke

NCT ID NCT07273591

Summary

This study tested whether adding a painless, low-level laser treatment to standard physical therapy could help people who have had a stroke more than a year ago. It focused on reducing muscle stiffness in the ankle and improving how they walk. In a small trial, patients who received the laser therapy along with their regular exercises showed greater improvement in walking and muscle flexibility than those who did exercises alone.
