Military study tests laser beams against arthritis pain

NCT ID NCT04692597

Summary

This study tested whether low-level laser therapy could reduce pain and improve hand function in adults with hand osteoarthritis. 83 military service members and beneficiaries received either real laser treatment or a fake (sham) treatment weekly for six weeks. Researchers measured changes in pain levels and ability to perform daily tasks, but the study was terminated early and its results are not available.
