Laser showdown: which light best zaps spider veins?
NCT ID NCT07678697
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026
Summary
This study compares two laser treatments—Nd:YAG versus diode—both combined with injection sclerotherapy, for removing reticular veins and spider veins (telangiectasias) using the CLaCS technique. About 80 adults aged 18 to 60 with these veins will receive one of the two laser types. Researchers will measure how well each clears the veins, pain levels, and patient satisfaction.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Nd:YAG laser or diode laser combined with injection sclerotherapy
What this could lead to
If one laser works better, it could become the preferred option for clearing spider veins with less pain and higher satisfaction.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage comparison study. Results may not apply to all skin types or vein severities, and both treatments carry risks like bruising or incomplete clearance.
