AI-Guided laser zaps prostate cancer in pioneering trial

NCT ID NCT06047509

Summary

This was a small, early-stage study to see if a new laser treatment system is safe and practical for treating prostate cancer. The system uses artificial intelligence (AI) software to map the cancer and guide a laser to precisely burn away the tumor while trying to avoid damaging nearby healthy areas like the urethra. Only two men were enrolled before the study was stopped, and they were followed for safety and quality of life for up to a year.
