Alcohol injection offers new hope for Women's fertility during cyst surgery
NCT ID NCT07481617
Summary
This study is testing a new surgical method called laparoscopic sclerotherapy to treat ovarian cysts caused by endometriosis. Instead of cutting out the cyst wall, surgeons drain the cyst and fill it with a concentrated alcohol solution to shrink it. The main goal is to see if this approach is better at preserving a woman's ovarian reserve—her remaining egg supply and fertility potential—compared to the standard surgery, which can significantly reduce it. The study will enroll 20 women and measure hormone levels and ultrasound egg counts before and after the procedure.
