First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether the blood thinner rivaroxaban can prevent strokes in people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) who have abnormal left atrial strain, a marker of future atrial fibrillation. About 532 adults aged 40-80 with HCM and normal heart rhythm but reduced atrial function will be randomly assigned to rivaroxaban or placebo. The goal is to see if early anticoagulation reduces death, heart attack, stroke, and embolism.
