New antibody shot could shield women from malaria

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of L9LS, a lab-made antibody, can safely prevent malaria in women of childbearing potential in Mali. About 290 healthy women and men will receive either the antibody or a placebo and be monitored for 24 weeks. The goal is to see if the antibody blocks malaria infection without causing serious side effects.
