Natural supplement trial aims to calm surgery nerves
NCT ID NCT05782829
Summary
This study is testing if a dietary supplement called L-tyrosine can help reduce anxiety and stress in adults having outpatient hernia surgery. Researchers want to see if taking L-tyrosine improves the body's ability to handle the stress of surgery without causing drowsiness or delaying recovery. They will measure anxiety levels, blood pressure, and stress hormones in about 150 participants to compare the supplement's effects against standard care.
