First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking L-serine, a natural amino acid supplement, can improve memory, mood, and brain function in older adults (ages 65-85) with late-life depression. Over 48 weeks, 84 participants will either receive L-serine or a placebo. Researchers will track changes in thinking skills, depression symptoms, and brain activity to see if the supplement helps and how it works.
