Own blood gel tested to speed gum surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT06296498

Summary

This study tested if adding a special gel made from a patient's own blood (called L-PRF) during gum disease surgery would help the gums heal better and cause less pain after the procedure. It compared two standard surgical approaches in 21 patients with gum disease, using a 'split-mouth' design where each patient received both treatments in different parts of their mouth. The main goals were to see if the gel reduced pocket depth around teeth and lowered patients' reported pain after surgery.
