New syrup tested to save hospitalized children from deadly complications
NCT ID NCT06426147
Summary
This study is testing if a nutritional supplement called L-Citrulline can help young children hospitalized with serious infections. About 888 children in Mozambique and Ethiopia who are at high risk for severe complications will receive either the L-Citrulline syrup or a placebo for 28 days. Researchers want to see if the supplement can reduce bad outcomes like death, organ failure, or readmission to the hospital.
