Summary

This study tests a new non-invasive brain stimulation device called kTMP (kilohertz transcranial magnetic perturbation) to see if it can help improve arm and hand movement in people who have had a stroke. The trial involves 7 adults aged 18-80 who had a stroke at least 12 months ago and still have moderate arm weakness. Researchers will compare different stimulation patterns to find the most effective approach for motor recovery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

kTMP device (kilohertz transcranial magnetic perturbation)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new, non-invasive way to improve arm and hand movement in people with long-term stroke-related disability.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small feasibility study with only 7 participants, so results may not apply widely. The device is experimental and its effectiveness is not yet proven.
