Knee surgery vs. exercise: which works better for common knee problem?
NCT ID NCT00597012
Summary
This study compares two common treatments for people with knee arthritis and a torn meniscus (a piece of cartilage in the knee). Researchers want to know if surgery or a structured physical therapy program works better to improve knee function and reduce pain. About 350 adults with both conditions were randomly assigned to receive either surgery followed by therapy or just physical therapy, and their progress was tracked for up to 12 years.
