New knee surgery pain block shows promise for faster recovery

NCT ID NCT05136352

Summary

This study tested whether adding a specific nerve block (called iPACK) to standard pain control improves recovery after ACL knee surgery. Researchers compared two groups of 90 adults having surgery: one received the combined nerve blocks, while the other received the standard block alone. They measured pain levels, opioid medication use after surgery, and tracked recovery over 9 months to see which approach worked better.
