Knee surgery blood mystery: does a drain help or hurt?
NCT ID NCT07494708
Summary
This study looked at whether using a surgical drain during knee replacement surgery affects how much blood patients lose. Researchers compared 102 patients who got a drain to those who did not, measuring their blood levels after surgery. The goal was to see if using a drain changes the need for a blood transfusion.
