First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a blood enzyme called tryptase can predict knee stiffness and pain after total knee replacement. Researchers measured tryptase levels before and after surgery in 219 adults with knee osteoarthritis. The goal was to see if these levels could help identify patients at risk for a condition called arthrofibrosis, which causes stiffness.
